Connecticut offers several heating assistance programs for qualifying residents. The Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) provides $295 to $645 in benefits for the heating season, based on household size, income, and heating source.
Families earning up to $76,465 (for a family of four) may qualify for energy assistance. Benefits are typically paid directly to utility companies or fuel vendors, and households using oil, propane, or kerosene may receive additional fuel deliveries.
CEAP recipients may also qualify for payment plans, shut-off protection, and heating equipment repairs or replacement. Applications open September 1st annually, and you can apply online, by phone, or in person through local Community Action Agencies.
